Dress code is cocktail…semi‑formal clothing that’s party‑ready but not overly formal. But, we’re in New Orleans, so have fun with it (if you’d like!). Come dressed up, come colorful, come classic—whatever lets you enjoy the night.

What is the dress code?

Is there parking or transportation?

There’s no transportation or designated parking for the event, but if you’re driving, there is street parking available. The neighborhood is walkable with breweries and bars nearby, and we hope the night keeps going long after the reception—consider this your open invite to join us for the after‑party.

What’s the weather like this time of year?

Early December in New Orleans is mild during the day and cool at night. Daytime temperatures usually sit in the mid‑60s to low‑70s°F, and evenings drop into the low‑50s to mid‑60s°F. Be prepared with a light jacket, wrap, or long sleeves once the sun goes down. We’ll have heaters at the venue if it’s cool, so you’ll be comfortable all night.

We don’t have a traditional registry. We’ve set up a honeymoon fund, and you’re welcome to gift through this link if you’d like. We promise gifts are absolutely not necessary—we’re just so excited to celebrate with you and see you there.

Will we be able to see you on Saturday?

Yes, we’ll be out and about on Saturday (not sure how early, ha!) and are working on a way to share our whereabouts as we hop around to some of our favorite spots. We wanted to spend the day enjoying the city, and you’re absolutely welcome to join us wherever we end up. We’ll be in touch as we figure out a plan.

What are some of your favorite places in the area?

  • The Bulldog — Chill, dog‑friendly patio, tons of beers on tap, and perfect for a casual hang.

  • Basin Seafood & Spirits — Fresh Gulf seafood, relaxed atmosphere, and classic New Orleans flavors done really well. Great for lunch or dinner.

  • Urban South Brewery — Bright, lively brewery with tons of local beers, seasonal releases, and a big taproom. Great spot for groups, casual hangs, and trying something new.

  • Turkey and the Wolf — Wild, creative sandwiches; James Beard–winning; very New Orleans.

  • HiVolt Coffee — Bright, modern coffee shop with great pastries and healthy bites.

  • The Vintage — Cute, cozy café known for its beignets (classic or fun flavors), champagne, and an easy, charming vibe. Perfect for a sweet stop, light brunch or evening drinks.

What are some classic New Orleans experiences nearby?

  • Magazine Street — Boutiques, vintage shops, cafés, bars, and easy strolling.

  • Garden District Mansions — Iconic historic homes and oak‑lined streets—perfect for a slow walk. Hopefully in Christmas decor and lights for an evening walk!

  • Mardi Gras World — See the floats up close, learn how they’re made, and get that behind‑the‑scenes Mardi Gras magic. A quick uber from the venue.

  • Cafe du Monde (French Quarter) — The iconic beignets + café au lait experience in the heart of the French Quarter. A short ride from Margaret Place and a must‑do for first‑timers.

  • The National WWII Museum — One of the top museums in the country, immersive exhibits, and only about a 10–15 minute walk from Margaret Place.

Will we be spending time in the french quarter?

We’re not planning to spend much time in the French Quarter. It’s a fun experience—especially for first‑timers—but we’ve done it plenty, and it can be very drinking‑heavy and super touristy, so just be prepared if you go. If you do find yourself in the French Quarter on Bourbon Street, we recommend heading over to Frenchmen Street as well. It’s a lighter, more local version with great music and a much easier vibe.
